Guide to UPI casinos in India 2024
UPI or Unified Payment Interface is a very easy to use and safe instant realtime payment system built by NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) and regulated by the RBI (Reserve Bank of India). UPI was launched already back in 2016 and enables customers to do bank transfers online.
Online casinos with UPI make it possible to deposit fast, secure, and free but also makes withdrawing money easily.
Below you can find a toplist with the casinos we recommend that also offer UPI as a payment method, for both deposits and withdrawals. All these casinos have INR, Indian rupees as currency so you don’t have to worry about the currency exchange rate or fees.
Steps on how to deposit with UPI
UPI is a type of payment gateway that makes it possible to use other methods to transfer funds to the online casino. You would need to have a payment method setup such as PhonePe, Google Pay or Paytm.
It’s very easy to start using UPI, you have to follow the below steps but keep in mind that different casinos and banks might have slightly different journeys in the cashier.
- Start downloading the UPI app from the Google Play or Apple store. You can also find it on your Banks website.
- Start setting up you account, you will need to enter personal details such as you Name, VPA, password.
- In the app you head over to the section named “Add/Link/Manage Bank Account” and follow the steps to connect your payment method, Google Pay, Paytm, Phonepe or bank account.
- Visit your casino and open the cashier, choose UPI/Net banking and follow the steps to proceed with the deposit.
How does UPI work?
When you start using UPI you might need to verify your account with the payment providers, such as Paytm, Gpay and Phonepe. They usually will need your identification number to verify that you’re the actual user.
This will be different depending on the method you’re using, you can read more in our guides for the actual payment methods.
IMPS vs UPI
IMPS is another payment gateway that was released before UPI, it’s also managed by NPCI and make it possible for online transfers. Deposit and withdrawals are easier with UPI as IMPS involve many more steps. IMPS is not as common on casino sites as both receiver and sender would need to have an Indian bank account to be able to send and receive funds.
How to sign up for IMPS?
- Go to your bank and ask them to activate IMPS for your account.
- Enter your account number, Aadhaar number and MMID number.
- Login to the casino, open cashier and follow the steps on how to deposit using IMPS
How to make Withdrawals with UPI?
It’s possible to make Withdrawals with UPI but it depends on what payment method you use and also on the online casino. You can read more in our payment method guides for Google Pay, Paytm and Phonepe. There might be a small fee for your withdrawal but it depends on the online casino. You might also have to verify your account before you’ll be able to withdraw your fund.
